Storm Chasers

A dark, heavy cloud was above us. But that didn't seem to dampen the spirits of DeLainey and David. They were just as happy as any other day. Having photographed them before, I looked forward to seeing them again for a few reasons...

DeLainey's eyes have it! Not only do I love the sparkle in her eye that is framed by her lovely, naturally curly lashes, but I love the white that surrounds her eyes. When she looks away from the camera, I believe it produces some of the best pictures.

Her little brother, David, has the cutest little smile. It's one that could warm you like a fire on a cold night. The thing I like most about his smile is his itty-bitty, precisely spaced teeth. Tiny examples of God's perfection. His smile is contagious, and those little shiners will make you smirk.

Once again, I enjoyed my time with the DeLainey and David. Glad the weather held off for those sparklers and shiners!

Meaning of Life

I saw her in a different light that day. Mrs. Frerichs, my high school English teacher, was tickled pink. The whole family was together, and that meant the world to her. I don't think the smile left her face the whole evening. We laughed as she reminisced the story of one of her boys coming home with an earring for the first time. She smiled lovingly at her husband, as she leaned up against the first car they owned together. The pride for her family was bursting at the seams as she hugged her grandkids tightly. She couldn't hide the fact of how happy she was. To me, it was a simple display of the meaning of life - Enjoy. Laugh. Love.
