I saw her in a different light that day. Mrs. Frerichs, my high school English teacher, was tickled pink. The whole family was together, and that meant the world to her. I don't think the smile left her face the whole evening. We laughed as she reminisced the story of one of her boys coming home with an earring for the first time. She smiled lovingly at her husband, as she leaned up against the first car they owned together. The pride for her family was bursting at the seams as she hugged her grandkids tightly. She couldn't hide the fact of how happy she was. To me, it was a simple display of the meaning of life - Enjoy. Laugh. Love.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life...
